Teen Group is targeted for individuals who are willing to try new things, want to participate in group activities, and will stay with the group. Each session is limited to 15 teens. The individuals participating in the group need to be able to stay with a group of up to 15 students with two adults.

NOTES FOR PARENTS:
Please note that parents are responsible for transporting their teen to the park location and picking them up promptly. Participants will need to be signed in and signed out by an adult. A cell phone number for whoever is transporting the teen must be on the sign in sheet. Teen participants must be able to stay with the group and function with limited support in a setting with up to 15 participants and 2 adults. We request that parents do not stay with your teen during the group. We want the teens to have a chance to be with their peers. If a participant wants to leave early, they can call their parent, but they must be signed out so that we know they are safe. We will provide a list of nearby places to wait while the teens are in session.
Group safety: The group members will discuss rules for safe behavior. If a participant engages in unsafe behavior, the group leader will give a warning. Group members who do not follow direction and continue to engage in unsafe behavior will be asked to leave the group.
OBJECTIVES:
- meet new people
- have fun and enjoy seasonal and community activities
- learn new things
- practice following directions, asking questions, working with others
- make friends
COST: $200/member or $250/non-member for the six-session course. Some counties will allow the waiver to cover this program cost. Ask your case worker if this could be included in your teen’s plan.
