The Autism Society of Southeastern Wisconsin keeps you informed with regular updates, communications and a referral based resource directory full of supports that specialize in meeting your families’ individualized needs.

Our family events provide a sense of community and support. They offer a chance to connect and interact with other families that understand and are with you every step of the journey.

Sensory Friendly Tree Lighting

Love celebrating the holidays, but worried that certain events will be overwhelming? Join is for our second annual FREE sensory friendly holiday tree lighting for children and adults with autism and other developmental disorders! Visit with sensory friendly Santa and enjoy the crafts, games, and other holiday activities. We will then bundle up to count down the tree lighting outside the library at 7 p.m.

Sensory Friendly Trunk or Treat

Join us for a spooktacular free time at the Sensory Friendly Trunk or Treat event! This in-person event promises a frightfully fun experience for all. This special opportunity has been designed to provide those who may have sensory processing differences an opportunity to enjoy a trick or treating experience that has been designed with them in mind! Dress up in your favorite costumes and get ready for a night filled with candy, games, and more. Our Sensory Friendly approach ensures a welcoming environment for individuals with sensory sensitivities. So, come one, come all, and let’s have a howling good time together!

Eble Ice Skating Family Fun Event

Take some time to reconnect and enjoy some family fun while ice skating at this private, member only event. Enjoy the modified sensory friendly environment while you skate with ample space to take a break in the bleachers, lobby/concession stand area or in a quiet room when needed. All skating abilities are welcome.

 We welcome all families to come enjoy an incredible night as Autism Society of Southeastern Wisconsin and the Milwaukee Bucks partner together on April 2, 2023.

Blue Lotus Center

Free Members-Only Event

Blue Lotus Farm and Retreat has 64 rural, beautiful acres with many accessible outdoor activities, like kayaking, hiking, and swimming. The Autism Society SE WI is looking forward to hosting this family outing on July 8, 2023.

Fall Fun at Waldvogel’s Farm

Join the Autism Society of SE WI for a Member Only event at Waldvogel’s Farm in Juneau – Wisconsin’s largest pumpkin farm. It’s going to be a day guaranteed to bring smiles to the whole family. With over 80 attractions to enjoy, everyone will find something exciting to do.

When: Sunday, October 1st, 2023 – Meet the Autism Society SE WI Staff from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Your admission wristbands are for the whole day (closes at 6:00 p.m.)

Family Day at the Racine Zoo

Join us at the Racine Zoo November 4th!

Registered Autism Society of SE WI members get in FREE!

It is a great way to explore a new place and visit with the approximately 75 different species and over 300 individual animals from Wisconsin and around the world.

As a certified sensory inclusive institution, the Racine Zoo has several sensory friendly areas on the property and sensory bags are available to borrow at the entrance gate. Best part of all, there is a quiet space at the Safari Tent just for our member families if you need a place to “recombobulate.”

Visit our team from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for a cup of hot chocolate and a sweet treat!

A-Team Fun Walk

The A-Team Fun Walk For Autism is a family friendly event where dedicated walkers, volunteers and sponsors raise money to help the Autism Society SE WI continue to provide programs, services and support within your community. As one of the largest autism family gatherings in the state, it’s also an amazing experience filled with activities, entertainment and the celebration of coming together to change the future for everyone affected by autism.

First Stage Sensory Friendly Productions

Enjoy a performance where families with children who need sensory accommodations can share the experience of seeing family-friendly theater. These performances feature a welcoming environment including lower sound, lights up, and available quiet areas staffed by educators experienced with the care of students with autism and other developmental disabilities.

We partner with First Stage to offer our members & friends a discounted rate of $5.00/ticket to select performances and include a money back guarantee.

SOAR Airport Rehearsal Program

The SOAR program is an airport rehearsal program designed for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), their families, and aviation professionals. The goal of SOAR is to alleviate some of the stress that people with disabilities and their families experience when traveling by air. It includes a MKE unique social story that participant families review before the big rehearsal day.

Urban Autism Summit

If your family has been touched by autism, or you are a caregiver, an adult on the spectrum or a professional who supports individuals living with autism, please join us! The goal of the Urban Autism Summit is to close the gap in information and services about Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) for families and the professionals who serve them in Milwaukee.
