TRAILS workshops helps you understand the types of decisions you & your child will face as your child comes of age & plan for the future.

All sessions are free in 2022

Do you wonder what the future holds for your teen? Our Transition Series (TRAILS) can help you understand the types of decisions you and your child will be facing as your child comes of age. We offer this series of classes each year to assist parents of transition age youth (ages 14-21) to prepare to the transition from school to community.

These classes are open to the community and would be of benefit to parents of teens with any disability, not just autism. Here is an overview of upcoming classes:

Session One: January 25, What to Know When Your Child Turns 18

Session Two: February 22, Supported Decision Making for Adults with Disabilities

Session Three: March 22, Creating a Quality Transition IEP for Students with Autism

Session Four: April 19, Understanding Employment and the Role of the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR)

Session Five: May 24, Looking Ahead: Financial Planning for the Future
