Dylan’s Run
Join us on September 12, 2010 for our 10th annual race. Online registration opened May 1st. Visit the Dylan’s Run website for details.
Dylan’s 2-Mile Run/Walk has been a highlight for Milwaukee’s Autism community since 2001. Thousand of walkers and runners participate to promote autism awareness, raise funds for research, and support the mission of the Autism Society of Southeastern Wisconsin. We are grateful to Indian Summer Festival for their continued support in hosting Dylan’s Run. After the run - stay for the festival!
Who is Dylan?
Dylan is a 12 year-old boy whose family lives in the Milwaukee area. His family is American Indian from the White Earth band of Chippewa located in northern Minnesota. He goes to school, likes to swim and hike, and has autism. Dylan was diagnosed with autism at the age of two and has battled the disability with the help of the Autism Society of Southeastern Wisconsin (ASSEW), ABA therapy, and medical intervention. Dylan represents all children who have a different way of thinking and expressing themselves due to autism. Our organization and our run exist so that Dylan and all individuals with autism can have opportunities for the best possible life.
Runners and walkers at our event are by cheered and encouraged by the UW-Milwaukee Women’s Basketball team and the Panther Coach, Sandy Botham. Thank you Panthers for your support!
